ZAKA Receives New Lifesaving EquipmentAugust 27, 2012 5:10PM Volunteers in ZAKA's Southern Command Unit received new lifesaving equipment at an official ceremony which took place at the Ministry of Health, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Health, Yaakov Litzman. The need for new lifesaving equipment is very real, as ZAKA volunteers in the south work around the clock responding to all lifesaving calls, particularly with the incessant rocket and grad attacks from Gaza. Some of the volunteers in the south lack the emergency equipment which is vital for them to continue saving lives. At the ceremony the volunteers also received protective helmet and vest equipment, so that they should not need to risk their own lives whilst trying to save the lives of others. Whilst the population may never know when disaster will strike, they need to know that ZAKA will be there for them when it does, with the necessary equipment. We are in the middle of a project replacing and adding equipment for the ZAKA volunteers in the South of Israel making sure they are ready to go out in a case of emergency and protected |
